CarryOnSizer answers one question well: will this bag fit? Most luggage advice repeats "22 x 14 x 9 fits most airlines" and stops. The real answer depends on three numbers you rarely see together: the airline's own published limit, the unit it publishes it in, and the bag's outside size with the wheels included.

So every airline figure here links to the baggage page it came from and shows the year it was checked, and where we could not confirm a number on the airline's own page we print "check the airline" instead of copying one from elsewhere. Every bag verdict uses the listing's own wheels-included size. Bags whose listings do not say whether the wheels are included get no verdict at all.

We research from published specifications, airline pages, certifications and verified owner reviews. We do not test bags in person, and we say so on every page.
